Court Gown

This costume was designed for the character of Princess Adalmina from the Finnish fairy tale Adalmina’s Pearl. The gown is based on court wear from England, Sweden and France during the late 1660s and 1670s.

The gown was created on a strict budget using a soft polyester dupion and a gilded brocade. Zip-ties have been used for the bodice boning and the binding and eyelets are hand stitched. The bodice seams are hand finished for an authentic finish.

The chemise is made partially out of second hand materials and features a digitally designed and printed border around the sleeves. All structural undergarments (bum roll and petticoats) are made out of repurposed fabric.
